Sammie was born March 15, 1950 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to Theodore Callahan Sr. and Hattie Callahan.
Sammie Graduated from Cotton Vocational High School. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour and was baptized at a early age. Sam worked as a Fulltime Mechanic. He enjoyed dancing, playin cards, (spades and tunk). He loved old school music, BB King, riding horses and watching old western movies as if he was a black cowboy in his own right. He introduced the family to WWE Smackdown!!!
Sam was deeply hearted about finding his son Theotis (TJ who went missing in 2007, not knowing about his whereabouts.
Sam taught "EVERYBODY' how to work on cars.
Sam departed this life on October 14, 2023, he was proceeded in death by his parents; sisters Bobby and Nellar; brothers John, Junior and Charles Calahan.
Sam Leaves to cherish his memory children, Chanda Downton, Christopher (Chris) Hudson (Ciera), Samuel (Sam) Payton, Theotis (TJ) Hudson, Kimberly (Kim) Hudson and Keshawna (Pooh) Hudson. Sisters; Mae Ree Williams and Alice Scales, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Also his bestfriend Nelson ( Boot) Hubbard.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 28, 2023, visitation will be held from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. at Good Hope Baptist Church of Jesus Christ located at 3800 E. 56th st. Kansas City, MO 64130.
