Sara was born in Kansas City, Missouri to her mother Kathie, and her father Roger. She was the middle child of her two siblings. In childhood, she took tap dance classes. Sara attended Park Hill High School and graduated in 1995. She then participated in classes at Maple Woods Community College, where her favorites were psychology and astrology. In later years she became an apprentice for masonry. Two projects she helped work on included the memorial path at Chinn Elementary and the Chillicothe correctional facility. She also spent many years employed at Ford in Claycomo. Her other jobs included: housekeeping, cashier, and donation sorter.
Sara spent her early life as a Catholic and later converted to Christianity. She relied on her faith to help get her through trials in life. She attended many churches, but notably one of her favorite churches was Church on the Rock in Harrisonville, MO.
Sara was always very playful and believed she could make anything into a game. She was devoted to bringing joy to others. Her friends and community knew her well for her outgoing personality, kindness, and puppet shows. Sara believed she could make anyone her friend and regularly did. She would always say her favorite day of the week was Monday because she believed it was full of opportunity and that anything could happen. Some of her favorite things include the moon and stars, the color purple, Tinkerbell, Tigger, and coloring. She was also very into music, mostly rock and alternative, her favorite band was Nickleback and loved attending RockFest. Her favorite holiday was the 4th of July.
Her quirky personality included doing things like cutting open glow sticks so her children could decorate their room with the glowing liquid for fun. When her children were younger, she regularly read to them for hours at bedtime; she read the entire Harry Potter series twice to them.
Sara spent the last days of her life at Liberty Health and Wellness nursing home with her mom and children. Then she ultimately passed at Truman Medical Center. She passed away knowing she was loved by her friends and family.
