Shannon Menard was born November 15th 1967 in Kankakee, Illinois to Thomas King and Ramona (Kaliszewski) Bukowski. For over 30 years, Shannon worked as a cosmetologist. She is survived by her daughters (Alexa Menard and Devyn Seymour) and 6 grandchildren (Zaine Abu-Omar, Haylee Seymour, Jase Cox, Eliette Seymour, Sawyer Seymour, and Turner Seymour) and 2 sisters Shelly Sypien and Penny Gertsch. Shannon admired drawing, coloring, gardening, treasure hunting, and most of all spending time with the grandkids. She was a very creative and passionate person.
The last two April Fools Days she had major medical scares, however; she passed on April 2nd 2024 because she was not fooling this time. Shannon lived as a strong fighter for her entire life, the last year especially while battling Multiple Myeloma. Cancer didn't win. It may have taken the body of our mother, but her will to overcome forever lives on with grace in her children and grandchildren.
We will miss her amazing advice, contagious smile, her laughter, her cooking, and most of all her sense of adventure. Remember, as Shannon would always advise no matter the ailment "Just drink water" and " This too shall pass"!
Details for a celebration of life to be announced on a later date.
