Sheldon Scott Jackson

Mr. Sheldon Scott Jackson, affectionately known as “Scotty J” took his last breath on Monday, April 24, 2023. He was preceded in death by his maternal grand-parents, Frank Scott Emery, Prophetess/Evangelist Earlene Davis; paternal grandparents, Lawrence & Lureatha “Dear” McCarty; uncles, Eric Larond Davis, Sr. Pastor Calvin Wainright; aunt, Mary Louise Douglas; and cousin, Danielle Sana Shareef.

Sheldon was born to Karla Jackson & James McCarty on August 11, 1985. He was the youngest of three children.
He received his education at Wendell Phillips and Three Trails Elementary Schools; J.A. Rodgers Middle School and graduated from Paseo High School. Sheldon also went to the Job Corps in Utah and received certifications in welding, plumbing and carpentry. He worked for the City of Kansas City in the Public Works & Water Services Department for a number of years and later became self-employed.

He was baptized at the Emmanuel Baptist Church at an early age and later united with Heaven Sent Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastors Calvin & Cassandra Wainright.
Sheldon was best known for being a self-made and self-proclaimed comedian and singer. He was a great artist and loved to draw.

He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his #1 Lady, his Mother!
Sheldon leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved mother, Minister Karla Rena Jackson of the city; father, James McCarty of Houston, Texas; a son, Aiden Shirley; two sisters, Stacey Jackson and Sierra Jackson of the city; three nieces, Dei’Jairria Roland, Au’Zanai’ Jones Kyndal Jackson; two nephews, De’Ron Roland, Jr., & Keilyn Jackson; three great-nephews, Javon Johnson, De’Ron Roland III, De’Jay Roland; a special friend, Maria Shirley & her children, Aaron, Yana, Zirah and Lennox; best friend, Steven Lewis; uncles, Leon Davis, Jr., Myreon Davis, Michael McCarty (Donna) & Floyd McCarty (Cynthia); aunts, Gloria (Samuel) Shareef, Pastor Cassandra Wainright, Dana (Donald) Cannon, Vickie Richard & Ruby Robinson (Charles); and a whole host of other family and friends. Sheldon shared a very unique bond with all of his cousins (who are all too numerous to name) as they all grew up as brothers and sisters, -Mills.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 13, 2023

Visitation will be from 11 A.M. - 12 P.M.
