Stanley Emery Brooks

Stanley E. Brooks was born September 22, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri to Lula and Dan Brooks. Stanley received his education in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School system. Stanley worked several jobs, cutting grass, working in restaurants and at the lumberyard in Kansas City. He moved to Toledo, Ohio for a while and worked for Honey Baked Ham.

Stanley accepted Christ early in life. He was raised in church, baptized, and attended church with family. He enjoyed hanging out with cousins and the guys. He was given the nickname “40 Lite”. The guys would play card games and just hang out. Stanley loved his Chiefs and had a love for watching all kinds of sports.

Stanley spent the last few years at Redwood of Kansas City South- Skilled Nursing. He departed this life peacefully at St. Lukes’ Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Scott; father, Dan Brooks; sister, Debra White; niece, Latrice Nevels; two brothers in-law, Harold White and Torre White, and cousin, Ivory Nevels Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory stepfather, Alex Scott; four sisters, Sharon Beatty (Carleton), Laura White, Cheryl Harris (David) and Patricia Garlington (Eric); three brothers, Frank Scott (Regenia), Kenneth Brooks-Scott (LaNae), and Ray Staley, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 17, 2023, visitation will be held from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. with the services beginning at 11 A.M. at Fellowship Right Baptist Church 4700 Pittman Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64133.
