Stella Louise Woods, born June 30, 1942, in Whitesville, Tennessee, to Armie Woods and Robert Woods Sr., She peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday August 28, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother Armie Woods and father Robert Woods Sr, her brothers Robert Woods Jr. and Rickey Woods, her sister Maxine Thomas, her son Clarence Lee, and her grandson Michael Lee Jr.

A proud graduate of Union Springs Elementary and Allen White High School, Stella moved from Whitesville Tennessee to St. Louis Missouri in 1958. She later moved to Kansas City Missouri in 1973 and started her new life by raising her family. Stella’s faith was a central part of her life from an early age. She was a devoted member of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she drew strength from her deep belief in the power of prayer, and her faith in God. 

Stella enjoyed a distinguished 20-year career as a registered nurse, dedicating her expertise to General Hospital which is now known as University Health. She later transitioned from bed side service to private duty hospice nursing. Following her retirement from nursing, Stella had a passion for cooking which turned into a successful catering business. Known for her mouthwatering chicken and dressing, cheeseburgers, fish, spaghetti, and sweet potato pies, she was a beloved figure in her community, known for her generosity and the joy she brought through her culinary creations. From serving family, friends, and a special connection of the Veteran Affairs Hospital countless amount of times. Outside of her professional achievements, Stella was a joyful individual and made sure you were fed and loved unconditionally. She loved fishing with family, hosting picnics, cooking with her family, traveling, and nurturing her beautiful garden and plants. Her involvement in the motorcycle community was particularly notable.

For 21 years, she was an esteemed member and one of the starting members of Force One Motorcycle Club Kansas City Chapter, serving as president of Force One Social Club for 19 years and later as Advisor of Force One Ladies. Her dedication to this community, under the leadership of her son Robert Lee, reflected her commitment to service and dedication.

Stella leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and selflessness through her surviving family: her daughter Robin Lee (Ray); her sons William Lee Jr. (Jackie), Robert Lee (Penny), Michael Lee (Deb), and Dax Lee (Nikki); her brother William Wood; her sisters Burnell Williams, Dorothy Isom, Linda Woods, Joyce Woods, Patricia Woods, Valerie Johnson, and Stephanie Gooden; her special cousin Gabe Woods; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Stella Louise Woods will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to prayer, faith, generosity, and the strength of family bonds.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 7, 2024, visitation will be held from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. with the services beginning at 11 A.M. at Marnatha Family Worship Center 1235 College Ave. Kansas City, Missouri 64127.
