Sylvester Jackson Jr. was born May 17, 1962 in Kansas City Missouri to Sylvester Jackson Sr. and Loretta (Williams) Jackson, and the first born of four children. He was educated at Southeast High School (class of 1980). He retired a few years ago from Nebraska Furniture Mart working in shop repair. He was a Minister in his own right, and a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, KCMO.
He met and married Mary Rambo and to that union they were blessed with his first-born daughter Miesha (Jackson) Bledsoe, that marriage later dissolved. He met and married the love of his life Marcia (Mack) Jackson and they became one in June of 2012 until his death Sylvester enjoyed gospel quartet music and was a professional drummer for Doc McKenzie and the Gospel Hi-Lites of Patterson, New Jersey and traveled nationally for many years. Upon his return to Kansas City, he played faithfully for various local quartet groups and choirs.
Sylvester was recognized as a National Gospel Quartet Singer/Song writer and Recording Artist here in Kansas City. He was a member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church Male Chorus and frequently played the drums and sung as a lead singer. He also enjoyed singing with his immediate family affectionally known as “The Jackson Family”. He was most proud of being an entrepreneur of business Mack-Jack Burgers and More. He definitely was a visionary of many other self-made business opportunities (some left to be fulfilled). He loved the following sports teams and had the apparel to show for it: Arkansas Razor-backs, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Monarchs.
Sylvester departed this life January 31, 2024 and was proceeded in death by his Mother, Loretta (Williams) Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Marcia Jackson; his daughters Miesha Bledsoe (Clarence “Ty” Jr), Willonda Demery, Jasmine Buckner; his sons Kenneth Mack (Brandey), Terrance TJ Buckner (Cierra); father Sylvester Jackson Sr; siblings Reta Toliver (Jerome Sr), Maurice Jackson (Nena), and LaVonda Jackson. His grandchildren, Ra’Niyah, Raelynn, Clarence III, Jalynn, Jamal, Rashaun, Jamel, Kenneth ”KJ” and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday February 10, 2024, visitation will be held from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M. with services beginning at 10 A.M. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church 8640 Sni A Bar Rd. Kansas City, Missouri 64129.
