Tamara Renee Washington was born on January 6, 1983, in Kansas City, Missouri, at Menorah Medical Center to Kimberly Arlene Washington and Derrick Wayne McDaniel Sr. Tamara was educated at Westport High School before graduating from Job Corps.
Tamara loved the medical field and had a passion for helping others. She began by obtaining her MA license, which eventually led to earning two more—her CNA and CMT licenses. She was always striving to sharpen her skills and gain more knowledge to assist others, especially those closest to her.
Tamara fought a long, tough battle with breast cancer, which she overcame. She was a brave woman who remained strong through every chemotherapy appointment and procedure she had to endure. When she conquered this obstacle, she proudly rang her bell, received her ribbon, and was overjoyed to call herself a survivor.
Tamara met and married Christopher Roe, and together they were blessed with one handsome child. She enjoyed cooking, participating in family activities, spending time with her children, and doing hair. She also cherished memories of lost loved ones. However, above all, Tamara absolutely loved talking on the phone, spending hours in conversation with family and friends.
Tamara departed this life on March 2, 2025. She was preceded in death by her baby cousin, Dante Garth, and her grandmother, Wilma Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Tayden Washington, Tavarreon Roe, Ryanna Washington, Taniya Washington, and Tommy Branch Jr.; her grandchildren: Asaiah Branch and his sister, due on May 24, 2025; her parents: Kimberly Johnson, Derrick McDaniel Sr., Charles Johnson, and Anthony Payne Sr.; and her siblings: Kristina Payne, Anthony Payne Jr., Craig Washington, Derricka McDaniel, Derrick McDaniel Jr., Teiara Payne, Angel Payne, Aubreyona Payne, and Aubreyon Payne.
