Thomas “Tom” Boggess Jr. was born April 2, 1959, in Shreveport, La to Thomas C. Boggess Sr. And Erma J. Boggess. Tom went to be home with The Lord November 12, 2023. He was the third of six children; he was the oldest son. Tom was proceeded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents, and his mother-in-law. Tom accepted Christ at early age and was baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo. At the time of his passing, he was of Ben Washington Baptist Church in Irving, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Darrell Sneed.
Tom attended school in the Kansas City school district. After graduating from high school, Tom enlisted in the United States
Army, he received an honorable discharge. On September 12, 1981, Tom married the love of his life, Patsy Poe Boggess. Born of this union were three children: Thomas Boggess IV, Caesare Boggess, and Roszell Boggess. Tom started his work career/ journey at a young age. He learned and obtained many skills throughout the years that would eventually lead him to chasing the dream of becoming an entrepreneur. If you knew him, you would know he wasn’t the type to take “no” for an answer. He started his first business in the mid 1990’s. A simple lawn service, B&B Sons. He had no intentions on getting rich, his only mission was to show his boys they could take over the world if they put their minds to it. “We make money the old fashion way- we earn it!” was his motto and that’s how he lived his life.
He enjoyed working with and teaching kids from the inner city, life skills, from starting fires to rehabbing homes. He always shared his knowledge and love throughout the city. He was a man’s man and will forever be missed. Tom loved cooking and could always be found in the kitchen or backyard barbecuing. He was a food critic and would definitely let you know if you didn’t cook something correctly. If you’ve ever gone to dinner with him, you know something would be going back to the kitchen to be re-cooked. Big Tom touched everyone he encountered. Tom is guaranteed to always be a memory in all our lives, from a remembered joke or debate, coaching sports, or from being a boy scout leader.
Tom leaves to mourn his passing, his wife; Patsy Bogges, three Sons; Thomas Boggess Iv (Charlene), Caesare Boggess, Roszell (Marina), His mother; Erma Jean Boggess, one brother; Kevine Boggess, Four sisters ; Shelia Jackson, Gwen Taylor (John), Regina Boggess, Angela Boggess, and six grandchildren.
