Timothy Ray Smith Sr.

Timothy Ray Smith Sr. was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 24, 1964 to Margie Lee Smith and James Miton Smith Sr.

A proud product of the Kansas City public school system, Timothy attended and graduated from Central High School in 1982. For the last decade of his life, he dedicated his work to Grupo Antolin, where he was a respected colleague and friend. Additionally, this is the place where he met his future wife Kia Jackson-Smith.

During his lifetime, Timothy was blessed with 3 biological children, 3 grandchildren and 4 stepchildren. He loved to listen to gospel music like his mother, watching movies and talking about his faith. Timothy was a baptized Christian, a child of the Most High God, and he lived his life relying heavily on and professing his unwavering faith in The Lord. His warmth, sense of humor, and dedication to family will be deeply missed but will continue to I nspire those who knew him.

Timothy passed away peacefully in the arms of his caring wife Kia on October 1, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering faith.

Timothy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Margie Lee Smith and James M. Smith Sr.; his sister, Elizabeth Langford; his brother, William Smith; his stepdaughter, Korrie Lashan Lemons; his nieces, Bridgette Langford and Takisha L. Smith; and nephews, Joel and Anthony Langford.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Kia Jackson-Smith, who he expressed his love for and who stood by his side during sickness and in health. He is also survived by his children, daughter Timesha Smith, sons Timothy Smith Jr. and Tyron Smith, and stepsons Victor Byers Jr, Jermaine Coleman, and Marcus Coleman. His pride and joy were his granddaughters, Kimora Danielle Henley, Kamiyah Shelene Henley and Kehlani Jai Posey. Timothy is also survived by his siblings (in order of birth) Phyllis M. Manley, James M. Smith Jr, Olivia J. Smith, Micheal L. Smith Sr., Gregory R. Smith and Andrea K. Davis. His family circle extended to a host of nieces, whom he lovingly referred to as his “Nieces Pieces,” nephews.
