Twila Denise Womack

Twila Denise Womack was born on April 9, 1964 to Rosa Lee Womack and Charles Carson in Kansas City, Kansas where she resided throughout her life. Twila was the baby sister of her family which included eight brothers and two sisters. Twila gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was baptized and a lifelong member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She received her education in the KCK District 500 schools of Grant Elementary, Eisenhower Jr. High and Wyandotte High School. She was given the nickname and affectionately known by her classmates as ‘Twilight’. She was involved in many school activities including, Choraliers, Concert Choir, Debate and Senior Board. 

She Graduated from Wyandotte High School with honors in 1983. She went on to earn her Associates Degree in Childhood Education from Kansas City, Kansas Community College. Twila spent many years working in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District and also worked with toddler children at Kiddie College, Creative World and Pandarama Pre-school. She worked 17 dedicated years of service at Heartland Center for Behavioral Health in Kansas City, Missouri. Twila touched every person in her own special way who came into her life. She made endless friends everywhere she went and never met a stranger.

Twila’s love knew no bounds, especially for daughter, RoShann --- her “heartbeat in life” and her grandson, Fredrick Clark III, “the apple of her eye” whom she affectionately called (Bugga) She loved spending time with her family more than anything, cooking for the holidays and baking many cakes! Twila entered her final rest on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She is preceded in death by both parents: Charles Carson and Rosa Lee Womack; three brothers, Clyde Womack, Don Womack, Burdette Womack; and one sister, Mary Ann Henderson. 

Twila leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter, RoShann Sipple; one grandson,Fredrick Clark III; one sister, Sheila Carson of KCK; five brothers: Perry Womack of KCMO, Charles Womack of KCK, Sheldon Carson Sr. (Paula) of KCK, Michael Carson, of KCK and Kenneth Womack of KCK; four special friends near-and-dear to her heart:Susan Howell, Shannon Jackson, Deborah Pierce-Fountain, Sheila Winbush; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins andfriends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024, visitation will be from 9 A.M. - 11 A.M. - with services beginning at 11 A.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 417 Richmond Ave., Kansas City, Kansas 66101.
