Verlon Timms Jr, affectionately known as “JR” to his family, “uncle” to his nieces and nephews., was born July 7, 1993, in Kansas City, Kansas to the union of Verlon Timms Sr. and Cynthia Green-Timms. He was one in a family of two boys and one girl.
Verlon completed his High School education at Wyandotte High in Kansas City, Kansas in 2011. He received a football scholarship and attended High-land Community College. He was a protector on and off the field, always looking out for his family and teammates.
Verlon was employed at a variety of agency jobs with the most recent being Fairfax Logistics Center. Verlon was known for his sense of humor and his protective nature. He loved video games and spending time with his family. Jr loved sports with his favorite team, being the KU Jayhawks basketball team.
Verlon confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. He was baptized at St Andrew Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Seth C. Harris. Now he is resting in a place with no sickness, no pain, and everlast-ing life.
He was preceded in death by his paternal Great Grandmother Quiller Mae Long-Timms, paternal Grandfathers Eugene Powell, Andrew Banks , and Jack Sykes. His aunt Gwendolyn Green. Uncles Jackie Bunch and Glover C. Green Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother and father, Verlon and Cynthia Timms; two brothers; Eric (Stacy) Green of Little Elm, Texas, Gregory Stallings of Kansas City, Kansas, one sister; Ver-Lyssa Timms of Baltimore, Maryland, maternal grandmother Pearlie Sykes, paternal grand-mother Glendell Timms-Hamilton, five nephews; Christian, Isaiah, Zaiden, Gregory III, and Easton; two nieces; Skylar and Parker, nine aunts; Pat Green, Sheila Mitchell, Renee(Troy) Robinson and Karen Green all of Kansas City, Kansas, Jeanette Brown-Vick of Oklahoma, Renee Henderson of Memphis, Tennessee, Robin Hicks of St Louis, Missouri, Renee’ Banks and Veronica Hamilton both of Howardville, Missouri: five uncles Larry Green of Kansas City, Kansas, Jackie Henderson and Kelvin Henderson both of St Louis, Missouri, Dwayne Banks of Marston, Missouri and Andrew Banks of Detroit Michigan and a complete host of cousins, great uncles, great aunts and friends.\
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023 at St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church at 5300 Parallel Pkwy Kansas City, Kansas 66104.
Services will begin at 11 A.M.
