Victor Lee Austin

Victor Lee Austin, 60, passed away on December 7, 2024, in Kansas City, MO. Born on December 3, 1964, he lived a life marked by warmth, laughter, and a deep love for his family and community.

Victor was a cherished father and Papa, known for his contagious laugh and open heart. With a natural talent for entertaining, he often joked he missed his calling as a comedian. Victor's life was deeply intertwined with his family, whom he included in all his adventures and endeavors.
He married his best friend Sheila Austin, and together they raised their daughters, Christin Austin and Marissa Austin, instilling in them a passion for automobiles. This passion led to the establishment of Vic Austin's Motorway in the early 1990s, a family-operated auto repair shop. A gifted mechanic, Victor specialized in diagnostics and repairs across all makes and models. His legacy in automotive repair continues through CNC Automotive, now operated by his daughter Christin and son-in-law Carl Fannin.

Victor's educational journey began in the North Kansas City school district, continuing through North Kansas City High School and later, Longview Community College. His love for mechanics was paralleled by his enthusiasm for the outdoors. An avid motor enthusiast, he enjoyed dirt biking, dirt track racing, and cruising in his hot rods. His adventurous spirit was also evident in his love for water sports, camping, and floating down the river.
He leaves behind his wife and best friend Sheila Austin daughters and son-in-law, Christin Austin, Carl Fannin, and Marissa Austin; grandchildren, Allia Austin, Carl Fannin Jr., and Miley Dixon; his twin sister, Victoria Austin; siblings, Mike and Karen Walls, Joe and Mavis McDonald; and several nieces and nephews. Victor also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Loretta, Ash, and River. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Pipes Gross, father Floyd Lee Austin, sister Patricia Mcdonald, nephews, Joel Bravard and Lee Reynolds.
A ceremony to celebrate Victor's life will be held at a later date. His life was one of laughter, love, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
