Warren Edward Owens

Warren Edward Owens “Sporty” was born to June Agee Owens Crook and Manchester George Owens on August 4,1952 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Warren attended school in the Kansas City School District and was gainfully employed at the Kansas City Chiefs Stadium.  One of his life’s goals was not only to be a High School Graduate, but to obtain a college Degree.  In 2020, after six years of hard work and determination, he achieved his goal to Stand as an Example to his family by obtaining his Bachelor´s  Degree of Science in Construction Management from the Johnson County Community College.  When asked how he did it, Warren said that although the journey to success was long, he was able to Achieve this goal with the Help of God and his Family.

Warren never married but was blessed to be the proud father of three children, Neeco Sims, Misty Garner, and Lil Warren, all of Kansas City, Missouri.  Warren enjoyed being around and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He held a special love for his family.

Warren departed this life on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, and was preceded in death by his Mother, June Owen Crook, Grandmother, Yolanda Agee; two brothers, Manchester and Kevin; two sisters, Verlene and Yolette; and his children’s mother, Barbara Garner.

Warren leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Neeco Sims and Misty Garner; one son, Lil´ Warren; six sisters, Deidre, Pamela, Melody, Wendy, Jackie and Jocelyn; two brothers, Darnell and Eric; and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 15, 2023

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Services begin at 11 a.m. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC
