Wilhelmina Scruggs (Tucker)

Wilhelmina Scruggs was born on March 8, 1939 in Dumas Arkansas as an only child to Clementine Robins and Burnes Tucker.

Wilhelmina accepted Christ at an early age in Dumas. A few years later her mother Clementine met and married Riley Scott. The family moved to Kansas City, MO when Wilhelmina was around the age of twelve. She was educated in the KCMO public school district at R.T. Coles Vocational and Jr. High School. Wilhelmina had 3 sons; Frederick E. Tucker, Rickey L. Tucker, and Keith Jones.

During her lifetime she worked as a private housekeeper, housekeeping at KU Medical Center, and a cook at Katz Drug Store. One of her leisure time activities was to sit outside on her porch and talk with the neighbors until dark. Her favorite pleasure was cooking, this was her way of sharing kindness to those she loved. Her biggest joy in life was her family. She loved being able to see five generations.

Wilhelmina married twice; once to Anthony Blanks and later to Willie Scruggs. Known to her family and close friends as “BabyRay”. Wilhelmina was a wife; mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend to many.

“BabyRay” went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2024 and will be sadly missed, forever remembered, and forever loved by those who had the pleasure to have met her. Both parents; sons, Rickey L. Tucker and Keith Jones, both husbands, Anthony Blanks, and Willie Scruggs preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory; Son - Frederick E. Tucker (Shirlette Tucker), Grandchildren - Lonzetta Renee Mosby, LaShonda Mason, Rochelle Tucker-Strickland (Sachse TX), Rickey Tucker II (Sharifa Tucker) Keller TX, Frederick Markiel Tucker; Great Grandchildren - Reyonna Tucker, Blaque Tucker, David Strickland Jr., Jordan Strickland, Morgan Strickland, Riley Tucker, Reid Tucker, Kashton Tucker, Josha Johnson and Lamon Freeman; Six Great Great Grandchildren - and many loving family members and dear friends.
