William Lewis Jr.

William Anthony Howard Lewis, Jr. "The Baby" William Anthony Howard Lewis, Jr. was born July 24, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to William Lewis, Sr. and Hannah Mae Lewis. He attended R.T. Coles High School and was employed with the City of Kansas City for 30 years until his
retirement in 1993. He met Berthine Lewis in the early 1980's and welcomed her three children as his own, they were married in 1994.

William was an extremely hardworking and generous man. After retirement you could find him busy mowing grass (for the entire block), painting and doing many projects around his home. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dominoes, dancing, listening to vinyl records, grilling, and spending time with family and friends.

William departed this life on Monday, April 1, 2024. He was preceded in death by both parents; stepmother, Viola Lewis; his wife, Berthine Lewis and his daughter, Bobbie Jean Summers. Grandson, Demetrius Ray and great-grandson, Kent'e Martice Summers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children; Charlene Griswold, Charlie Summers, Jacqueline Lewis, and Antashia Lewis; grandchildren, Charles Griswold, Charon Griswold, Antwone Summers, James Wren, Edwin Summers, Jaiden Taylor, Janae Taylor, Ja'Myiah Lewis-Jackson, Nyiilah Jackson, Anyiah Jackson, Malyiah Jackson, Nevaeh Jackson, Micah Jackson, Andrew Summers, Martice Summer Jr., and Ohana Jackson; sister, Loretta Brown, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024, visitation will be from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC located at 2800 East 18th st, Kansas City, Mo 64127.
