Wilma Claudine Jones (Thomas)

Wilma Claudine Thomas Jones, born to Wilhelmina Threat and Claude Thomas on April 21, 1942, in Alderson, Oklahoma, was a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many. She was the be-loved middle sister among her five siblings, including her older brother Claude Thomas Jr., and sisters Almalene Thomas Fergu-son, Charles Thomas, Joe Thomas, and Larry Thomas.

Wilma's journey began at L’overture School, where she thrived as a talented majorette, leading the championship marching band. Her dedication and passion for music and performance shone through, leaving a lasting impression on all who witnessed her grace and skill. She continued her pursuit of knowledge at Spel-man College, where she further nurtured her thirst for education.

Upon completing her studies, Wilma returned to McAlister, Okla-homa, where she found love and happiness in her marriage to Richard Henry Washington, hailing from Stringtown, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Wilma's legacy lives on through her four children, Angela Renee Washington, Richard Henry Washington Jr., Kimberly Arlene Johnson, and Diana Rochelle Washington Harrison. Each carrying a piece of her spirit, they are a testament to her unwavering love and devotion as a mother.

Throughout her career as an operator for Southwestern Bell, Wil-ma dedicated herself to providing exceptional service and support to countless individuals. Her commitment and work ethic were unparalleled, a true testament to her character.

In her retirement years, Wilma embraced her newfound freedom by indulging in her various passions. She was a gifted seamstress, creating beautiful garments with her skilled hands. Her collection of angels reflected her deep faith and served as a reminder of the heavenly presence guiding her path. Wilma's love for dance was undeniable, and whenever the melodies of the Marvin Gaye or Isaac Hayes graced the air, she would be found gracefully moving across the dance floor. An avid fan of Western movies and the TV show Hawaii 5-0, she found joy in immersing herself in these capti-vating tales.

Wilma's unwavering support for the Kansas City Chiefs show-cased her loyalty and dedication. She cheered them on with fervor, remaining a devoted fan until the very end. In the hearts of all who knew her, Wilma Claudine Thomas Jones will forever be remembered for her love and grace.
