Xaivon McKinzey

Xaivon D. McKinzey was born on March 16, 2004 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri to Denise S. Hayes and Brian E. McKinzey.

Xaivon was educated in the Hickman Mills School District  and graduated from Ruskin High School (Burke Academy) c/o 2022. Better known as “Zaykey” to family and friends, Xaivon’s name is of African origin which means fighter. Xaivon is a strong name for those who undoubtedly have a big spirit. The name also means “bright light” in Arabic.

In the bible, Xaivon means “new House”. People with this name are charming, intelligent, serene, generous, and          cooperative.

Xaivon never married or had children, however, he was more like a dad to his nieces, and nephews. Zaykey enjoyed spending time with his family, playing basketball, video games, and listening to music. Once upon a time, he thought he could dance, too.

Zaykey departed this life on Sunday, August 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Gloria Sue McKinzey, maternal grandfather, Brian Keith Adams “TC”, and paternal uncle, Alan McKinzey “AC”.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving parents, Denise S. Hayes (Michael Thomas who was an active father figure the last 13 years) and Brian E. McKinzey; siblings, Jai’Niece D. Hayes, Brian Xaire D. McKinzey, Ja’River J. Dunlap, Jha՛ve՛a J. Dunlap, Briana M. Thomas, Michael D. Thomas, and Stephon E. McKinzey; favorite cousin, Xaiver Gunn, and a host of other stepsiblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
